The shopping center managed by Nhood has reached the highest level of excellence of this internationally recognized certification.
The Zenia Boulevard Shopping Center, managed by Nhood and owned by Ceetrus and CBRE Investment Management, has obtained 5 Stars from the international accessibility certification AIS as part of its commitment to a diverse society.
The AIS certificate (Accessibility Indicator System), created by the Foundation for Accessibility and Social Responsibility (ARS), evaluates the level of accessibility of all elements that make up the set of physical, functional, and virtual structures, objectively and reliably accrediting five levels of excellence in accessibility, from 1 to 5 Stars.
Specifically, the AIS Standard 1/2023, which has been applied to Zenia Boulevard, takes into account physical, sensory, and cognitive accessibility criteria; focusing on the creation of usable, safe, and diverse environments for everyone, including people with disabilities, the elderly, and pregnant women.
The achievement of 5 Stars means that Zenia Boulevard has reached the highest level of excellence in accessibility by integrating accessible outdoor and indoor pathways, adapted restrooms, an accessible service point with a dual-height counter and a hearing loop, an adequate provision of reserved parking spaces, an accessible evacuation route, and the presence of refuge areas, among other implementations.
Zenia Boulevard, committed to people
“Nhood has demonstrated a deep understanding of the importance of creating accessible commercial spaces for all people, and Zenia Boulevard is a clear example of this,” commented Esther Bienes Pinedo, director of the ARS Foundation, the entity responsible for the AIS standard. “The integration of a standard like AIS is crucial in a project of this magnitude, as it ensures that no citizen is left out,” she added.
For her part, Cristina Ros, director of Zenia Boulevard, highlighted: “Accessibility is a priority in all our initiatives. Obtaining this certification reflects our commitment from the very moment we conceived Zenia Boulevard. Our goal has always been to create a comfortable, safe, and accessible environment for everyone, including people with disabilities, the elderly, families, and pregnant women.” This approach underscores Nhood’s effort to create inclusive and accessible spaces that meet the needs of a diverse community.
This result is the outcome of ongoing work since the inception of the shopping center and a global commitment from Nhood to a more diverse, safe, and comfortable society for everyone.
