The manager of Relway, Authorised AIS Entity, values the AIS Approved Technician training positively, considering that it is very practical and that it goes into many details that ‘otherwise we might not have been aware’ of their importance.
‘The technicians are very happy with the training because it is very hands-on’.
AIS: What do you think of the Homologated Technician training?
Jéssica Malagás Cué: All the technicians I have in the team are quite happy with it because it is a training that, apart from going to the theoretical part and taking it to the standard, also takes it very much to the practical part, to the day-to-day circumstances and not only to accessibility, but also to the usability of spaces, which I think is also very important and that we have to take it very much into account. They put a lot of emphasis on that part, on the fact that this is not only for a few but for all people.
AIS: What would you highlight as the most interesting part of the course?
Jéssica Malagás Cué: Well, the most interesting thing is that. This certification goes into a lot of detail and brings it into everyone’s everyday life. We have realised that it is a very social issue. It has introduced us very much to this philosophy.
This training has made us see beyond the fact that it is only for certain people, but that in the end it is for everyone. The word social, I think, is what characterises it most.
AIS: Is there anything you have missed in this formation?
Jéssica Malagás Cué: Rather than being surprised, the technicians have realised that, in fact, they have to take many more things into account, many more than we thought. It’s not just taking into account a ramp or the width of a door. There are many more factors. The AIS Standard and this course places a lot of emphasis on taking into account many small details that otherwise we might not have been aware of. At the beginning, it is even a bit of a challenge, but then we understand that it is absolutely necessary.
