A total of 12 Coca-Cola Europacific Partners logistics centres on the Iberian Peninsula have obtained international AIS certification in accessibility, reaffirming the company’s commitment to accessibility and the creation of inclusive spaces for everyone.

Specifically, three plants located in Barcelona, Seville and Valencia have achieved the highest AIS 5-star rating for accessibility, while another 9 facilities, including key centres such as those in A Coruña, Tenerife, Bilbao and Azeitão (Portugal), have received 3 and 4-star certifications, endorsing their usability, comfort and safety.

AIS evaluates the accessibility conditions of goods, spaces and services, certifying their degree of excellence in accessibility from 1 to 5 Stars, with a comprehensive vision that includes the physical, sensory and cognitive aspects. With a presence in more than 30 countries, AIS enables accreditation of accessibility achievements, integrating them into action plans and companies’ ESG and DEI strategies.

Accessible logistics spaces

The logistical, industrial and private nature of these spaces makes Coca-Cola Europacific Partners commitment to accessibility and to certifying these centres with AIS even more relevant,’ explained Esther Bienes Pinedo, director of the Foundation for Accessibility and Social Responsibility, the international creator and manager of the AIS (Accessibility Indicator System) certification. ‘It is essential to create usable and accessible spaces for everyone, and Coca-Cola Europacific Partners has understood this very well,’ she added.

In order to achieve the different degrees of accessibility with AIS, these facilities have incorporated Braille signage, accessible routes with tactile foot-activated routes and magnetic induction systems, among many other improvements.
