Several actors and organisations are involved in the AIS certification process, such as the ARS Foundation itself, the Authorised Entities, the approved technicians or AIS assessors, the field technicians, the auditing technicians and the Examination Committee.
If the AIS assessors are responsible for the certification consultancy work and the ARS Foundation and its auditors are responsible for the audit, what is the role of the AIS Examination Committee?
The ExaminationCommittee is the ARS Foundation body that approves the certificates and the awarding of the Plaque after reviewing the accessibility studies and audit reports.
The members of the committee, which includes members of the board of trustees and representatives from different areas of the Foundation, such as Quality or the Technical Department, analyse the work carried out by the approved technicians and auditors, and approve the issuing of the certificate at a regular session.
This board meets on a fortnightly basis, although extraordinary meetings may be requested.
The existence of this body ensures quality and objectivity in the processes of applying the Standard, facilitates the homogeneity of criteria at international level and reinforces the protection of the standard, one of the fundamental functions of the Foundation for Accessibility and SR.
